Welcome to the Artists Institute. We develop and collaborate on all sorts of artistic and educational endeavors to empower Haiti’s creative industries.
We began our work as Festival Film Jakmel in 2004. Ciné Institute, Haiti’s film school, was born from that in 2008. Following the 2010 earthquake, we grew to become the Artists Institute, a professional training and technical resource campus established to empower local film and music production industries.
Today we are a creative community resource for artists of all kinds. Located on the southern coast a few miles east of Jacmel, our beautiful five-acre property features recording studios, video editing suites, production offices, classrooms, a cave, lush fields with flowers and trees - all set on cliffs overlooking the turquoise Caribbean Ocean.
Our website is in Creole for our Haitian audiences but look around and check out some of the content to get a better sense of our work and the country.
